Paul Daly - St. John's, Newfoundland
Paul Daly is a photojournalist who started in newspapers from the ground up. His first job was with the Sunday Tribune in Dublin, Ireland as a copyboy. (Copyboys are now obsolete!) He had a great interest in photography and was quickly taken on as an apprentice photographer with the senior photographers. Soon after he became the youngest working press photographer in Ireland and his work was receiving accolades. Paul moved from The Sunday Tribune to work for Photocall Ireland; a news agency set up by his former picture editor, and friend. Working on stories abroad gave Paul the travel bug and he decided to accept a position with Image Photographic Services and see the world from the deck of a luxury cruise liner! In this capacity Paul traveled to all five continents where he delighted in photographing the people and documenting their culture. A cruiseship does have the reputation of being a Loveship and Paul fell in love on a slow boat to China. He married and is now living and working in St. John's, Newfoundland. Along with the Sunday Tribune, Paul's work has been published in newspapers and magazines in Europe and North America including The Irish Times, The Times of London, The Sunday Times, The Financial Times, The London Independent, The Gaurdian, The Observer, The Globe and Mail, Hello Magazine, Image Magazine, and MacLean's. Paul's images have also been published in books and used as CD covers. Paul Daly www.pauldaly.net ----------------
