Jonathan Castner - Denver, Colorado
Jonathan Castner hails from Detroit where he studied photojournalism at the
Center for Creative Studies. Originally inspired at age 11 by the ground
breaking work of Frans Lanting and later by William Allard, Jonathan first
applied his photojournalism and documentary skills on the mean streets of
Detroit's Cass Corridor. A strong social and political conscience, coupled
with an insatiable curiosity drives him to present our worlds reality through
his work. "I endeavor to reach out and reveal the unseen or misunderstood
to everyone from the 9 year old novice news reader to that child's'
grandfather." Working for the Detroit Free Press and other papers in the
Detroit area prepared him for his journey west to his current home near
Denver. Jonathan's work has been seen in Newsweek, Rolling Stone, The
Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and numerous other newspapers
and magazines. He is currently represented by PictureDesk International in the United States and Canada.
